This is a small open group of people that gather to share a cuppa and listen to some stories and poems that are read out loud by the group leaders.Memories are often triggered by this, and shared if people wish. A small voluntary contribution to refreshments is appreciated. Text is provided for those that wish to follow the reading and an opportunity is offered for those that wish to join in the reading out loud, but just listening is fine also. The group is kept small 8-10 people but occasionally vacancies arise. Please contact Sue Pengilley before coming to discuss the availability and suitability of the sessions.

We offer games, chat, craft, singing/music events, jigsaws, anything people want to do, we celebrate each others birthdays and one of our members does a quiz. Cuppas and biscuits with cake on birthdays!

North Huish Community Group (NHCG) aims to arrange social events at St Mary's Church which is the only community meeting space for the residents of North Huish village. The NHCG is run independently of both the Parochial Church Council of Diptford with North Huish and the North Huish Parish Council but aims to cater for a wide range of interests and activities. Come along to our 'Carols By Candlelight' and enjoy the music of Christmas. Mulled wine and mince pies served afterwards. -- Please beware that lighting will be by candles only and wear warm clothing as the church has no heating -- The church is beautiful Grade 1 listed building and is in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust, so any monies raised go towards the upkeep of the building. There is a small carpark down the road from the church, so arrive early if you have concerns about country lanes, parking and early dark nights!

(Some medical conditions are excluded – please ask). Costs – *Changed in March 2024* £17.00 on first visit (to include cutting and and new nail clippers £7.00 one off costs) £10.00 for toe nail cutting £3.50 for finger nail cutting (requires separate clippers & related cost if booked) Call the South Brent & District Caring office for further details or to book an appointment contact us on the number below. Everyone is welcome to this fun mixture of seated/standing exercises/movements to music, tailored to improve flexibility, strength and balance.
